2. Project Templates & Issue Templates
Template Creation
Project & Issue Templates for Jira allows users to:
Develop custom project templates to initiate new projects with custom configuration and pre-fill them with designated content.
Enhance Jira’s native templates to additionally pre-fill the new project with specified content.
Generate project content & issue templates to insert specified content & issues into existing projects without altering the projects' configurations.
All templates can be enriched with additional content, issues. The usage permission of templates can be customized, and the usage of the template can be automated via Jira automation or API, making all templates powerful tools to enable your processes.

Template Types
Custom Project Templates
Custom project templates for Jira software projects, or Jira work management projects are initiated by selecting a ‘Source project’ that the template settings are based on. The configuration of new projects can be customized within the template settings at a later stage, on an individual basis.
Enhanced Jira Native Project Templates
Jira native templates for ‘Software development’ or ‘Work management’ will create a new project similar to how Jira’s native template is configured. Additionally you can enhance the new project with additional configuration, project content, issues or customized project create permission.
Project Content & Issue Templates (NEW)
Project Content & Issue Templates enable the specification of content and issues to be created within existing target projects. The configuration of the existing project will remain unchanged. Issues will only be generated if the issue type and required fields align with the configuration of the selected target project.
Template Scope
It is feasible to restrict the template scope of Project Content & Issue Templates to a specific set of target projects by defining the available target projects or by indicating a project category. By default, the scope is global, making the template accessible to all projects.
